Megan, my blogger pal and fellow Cheeto lover, approached me with her idea of a starting a blogger conference in Houston. When she asked if I could do the branding and website, I hopped on board before you could say "Jiminy Cricket." Plus, how could I resist with a tagline like "bloggers bonding over bubbly"??? From picking the color palette, developing the logo, and building the website, this project was a delight to be a part of. Now skidaddle and go <a href="http://www.houstonbloggersymposium.com/" target="_blank">buy your ticket</a> - see you in Houston on September 15th!Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-45006658553150690052012-06-28T08:25:00.000-07:002012-06-28T08:34:51.908-07:00Rebecca Lankford Designs<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

Rebecca is a super talented jewelry designer based out of Houston, and I had the pleasure of designing her blog. Her jewelry line has a bohemian feel to it - lots of leather, raw diamonds and stones, organic shapes and gilded crosses. I wanted to evoke that feeling in the blog with a rich, warm color palette and sophisticated pairing of serif and sans-serif fonts. Overall, I think it strikes a great balance between rustic and modern.Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-76111609530792426812012-06-28T08:20:00.002-07:002012-06-28T08:21:01.854-07:00Culinary Chops<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

Megan came to me asking for a header and social icon design, and was great to work with. She had a clear vision of what she was after, but just needed to put a unique spin on it. Soft ombre gradients and classic fonts was on her must-have list, and I think we came up with something that makes an impact without being distracting.Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-36784317098772072252012-06-21T16:55:00.000-07:002012-06-28T08:15:03.005-07:00Nook & Nest<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

I loved designing this branding and website...perhaps it's because it is my sweet mom's company, or because she gave me the liberty to do whatever I wanted. Likely, it's a combination of both. It's simple and modern, but with a touch of freshness and fun to it. I used Squarespace instead of Blogger for this project, since we needed a bit more functionality than Blogger could offer.Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-73730402939309636702012-06-19T16:55:00.000-07:002012-06-26T19:33:35.684-07:00Nic's Picks<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

Whitney's blog was just so fun to design. She had a pretty hodge podge mix of inspiration photos she sent, and I was able to strike a happy medium with the design. It's fun and girly but still has a modern sensibility. She wanted orange to be the main color, to which I happily obliged. What can I do to freshen things up for spring?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">RX: Big earrings are the perfect way to take your wardrobe from “blah” to “bombshell.” Spotted on a slew of spring runways, framing your face with colorful drop earrings, oversize studs, and statement hoops will help to kick your spring style up a notch. Metallic golds, silvers, and rose tones are versatile pieces that go perfectly with a kaleidoscope of colors. A bright earring will add just the right amount of color and style to basic tops and dresses. The key is to let your earrings do the talking, and keep the rest of the jewelry at a minimum. If you must add some extra bling, rings and bracelets are the best route to go.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Big earrings are a staple for red carpet events and fancy soirees, but statement earrings are great for daytime if you follow a few simple rules. While it’s always fun to wear a little bit of sparkle, it’s best to stash the super blingy earrings away until the evening. Keep hair simple to keep the look from going too formal – think loose waves, a twisty ponytail, or a messy bun. Heavy makeup can overpower the earrings, so stick with a fresh face with a colorful swipe of lipstick or a smokey eye.</div>Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-54759475639144309152012-06-16T16:54:00.000-07:002012-06-26T19:15:38.812-07:00IDGWorld<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

When Marissa asked if I could redesign the blog for IDG Corporate Communications, she told me they wanted a sophisticated look in the spirit of the current branding but with a modern edge. This type of client is such a departure from the fashion and design bloggers who usually hire me, and it was a fun challenge drawing inspiration from the current branding and putting my own spin on it. </div>Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-30106513487990917142012-06-15T16:59:00.000-07:002012-06-26T18:01:09.948-07:00The Juniverse :: Lavish In Lanvin<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5y3H08TR8Xc/T-kV66VvlFI/AAAAAAAADYQ/BVPWeyzqQLw/s1600/Juniverse_LavishLanvin.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5y3H08TR8Xc/T-kV66VvlFI/AAAAAAAADYQ/BVPWeyzqQLw/s1600/Juniverse_LavishLanvin.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://thejuniverse.com/beauty-bar/2012/lavish-in-lanvin/" target="_blank">Lavish In Lanvin</a></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><i>This is a beauty/lifestyle story I wrote for celebrity stylist and VH1 star June Ambrose's new website, The Juniverse.</i><br /><br /><i> </i>“Lavish in Lanvin while soaking in Bulgari bath! When Jessica got in touch asking for a blog makeover, I headed over to her site and determined she was 100% awesome within the first 5 minutes. I was laughing out loud at her witty take on fashion and the trends us ladies follow without question. She really loved the image of the space alien supermodel in a futuristic purple frock, and wanted it used in the header. As for the rest of the blog, Jessica wanted something classic and (obviously) purple. Mission accomplished. </div>Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-25872315987948125842012-06-13T16:57:00.000-07:002012-06-26T18:01:09.945-07:00Uncharted Style<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0nMEHOHHaVM/T-kWJMNJ8oI/AAAAAAAADZY/QsM92sPtbs0/s1600/Uncharted+Style.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0nMEHOHHaVM/T-kWJMNJ8oI/AAAAAAAADZY/QsM92sPtbs0/s1600/Uncharted+Style.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://unchartedstyle.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">Uncharted Style</a></td></tr></tbody></table>Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-53722906461460449392012-06-12T16:57:00.000-07:002012-06-26T18:01:09.956-07:00The Well-Appointed Catwalk<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k8-hTvUJ9Qo/T-kWKICCNOI/AAAAAAAADZg/ZsgttxbW6g4/s1600/Well+Appointed+Catwalk.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k8-hTvUJ9Qo/T-kWKICCNOI/AAAAAAAADZg/ZsgttxbW6g4/s1600/Well+Appointed+Catwalk.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thewellappointedcatwalk.com/" target="_blank">The Well-Appointed Catwalk</a></td></tr></tbody></table>Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-87733510485679685592012-06-11T17:00:00.000-07:002012-06-26T18:01:09.965-07:00The Juniverse :: Pucci Spring/Summer 2012 Collection<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-89PI_8eB0WA/T-kV-Ns6HgI/AAAAAAAADYo/nKO1D_ewYIY/s1600/Juniverse_PucciSS2012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-89PI_8eB0WA/T-kV-Ns6HgI/AAAAAAAADYo/nKO1D_ewYIY/s1600/Juniverse_PucciSS2012.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://thejuniverse.com/style-stalker/2012/emilio-pucci-spring-summer-2012/" target="_blank">Pucci Spring/Summer 2012 Collection</a></td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: justify;"><i>This is a fashion story I wrote for celebrity stylist and VH1 star June Ambrose's new website, The Juniverse.</i><br /><br /><i> </i>If you want to talk about a jaw-dropping gorgeous spring/summer 2012 collection (which I’m betting you do!), let’s talk about Pucci. Pucci gave its ubiquitous colorful and bold patterns a bohemian makeover this season, and it is HOT. Pops of red brought the heat, bursting boldly on scene in rich materials and textures on ready-to-wear and accessories. Intricately patch worked ankle-skimming infanta skirts bellowed beneath chic crop tops, exposing just the right amount of midriff. Sheer lace, macramé, crochet amped up the sexy factor, with lingerie-inspired skimpy slip dresses, delicate camisole tops and frilly trim on knits doing double time as outerwear. To keep the look classy, super tight styles were nixed in favor of loose and flowy silhouettes that perfectly embrace the glamorous gypsy-style vibe to the collection.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">However, no bohemian look is complete without piling on the accessories. Big earrings, one of the more notable trends that popped up on this season’s runways, are a key ingredient to mastering the easy, breezy summertime style. Go the Pucci route and put statement bling on each lobe accompanied by loose waves, or pair your big earrings with a topknot on those hot and sticky summer days for an instant cool factor. What’s not to love about big statement earrings? It’s a winning look all around.</div>Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-17839909778363354332012-06-10T16:55:00.000-07:002012-06-26T18:01:09.940-07:00JWS Architecture<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v5dLx6Y5XMg/T-kV4nsv3AI/AAAAAAAADYA/FKJPuNJyZm8/s1600/JWS+Architecture.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v5dLx6Y5XMg/T-kV4nsv3AI/AAAAAAAADYA/FKJPuNJyZm8/s1600/JWS+Architecture.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.jwsarchitecture.com/" target="_blank">JWS Architecture</a></td></tr></tbody></table>Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-19799754564729774802012-06-09T16:56:00.000-07:002012-06-26T18:01:09.941-07:00Purple Party Shoes<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DBXhVOZLSPs/T-kV_y2vQYI/AAAAAAAADYw/0xnbLHeBd9g/s1600/Purple+Party+Shows.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DBXhVOZLSPs/T-kV_y2vQYI/AAAAAAAADYw/0xnbLHeBd9g/s1600/Purple+Party+Shows.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.purplepartyshoes.com/" target="_blank">Purple Party Shoes</a></td></tr></tbody></table>Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087531395300352142.post-19822889130943482222012-06-08T16:59:00.000-07:002012-06-26T18:01:09.943-07:00The Juniverse :: Clutch Candy<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pttNH2pkPls/T-kV6JjURAI/AAAAAAAADYI/VSolSxo_dUs/s1600/Juniverse_ClutchCandy.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pttNH2pkPls/T-kV6JjURAI/AAAAAAAADYI/VSolSxo_dUs/s1600/Juniverse_ClutchCandy.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://thejuniverse.com/style-stalker/2012/clutch-candy/" target="_blank">Clutch Candy</a></td></tr></tbody></table><div style="text-align: justify;"><i>This is a fashion story I wrote for celebrity stylist and VH1 star June Ambrose's new website, The Juniverse.</i><br /><br />When you’re hitting the town for drinks after work and don’t have time to change, kicking it up a notch with some bling is a surefire way to get glam in seconds. After all, a fashion diva knows it’s the accessories that can take an outfit from simply cute to worthy of getting photographed by street style snappers Tommy Ton or Tamu McPherson. In this case, the solution to your post 9 to 5 switch-up is a showstopping limited edition crystal-covered minaudière from Vivienne Tam.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Bound to be the sartorial star of any ensemble, this cheeky clutch cleverly combines Vivienne’s signature Eastern aesthetic and the elegance of vibrantly-colored Austrian crystals. With the aforementioned crystals forming the sweet and sassy face of a geisha girl, we won’t be surprised if you feel as fierce carrying the clutch as the bejeweled girl pictured on it looks. I was the in-house PR and marketing gal (among other things), and above is just a small sampling of some of the press clips I secured for various Bristols Six products. I spent my days pitching print, online and broadcast media, writing sales, marketing, and product copy, managing the social media outlets, and creating/scheduling content for email newsletters. In short, it’s a balancing act where each minute counts. The last thing a busy gal needs to add to her daily ‘to do’ list? Standing in front of the closet wondering what on Earth will both fit and flatter. It makes complete sense that the versatile and stylish trench has long been a staple in many ladies’ wardrobes. Spotted on the always perfectly put together Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez, trench coats are a great option for glamazons with copious derrieres. The thin fabric glides over curves, providing just the right amount of warmth and polish without adding any extra bulk to your bottom half. The one must-have piece for pear-shaped fashionistas wanting to dress up their ensemble while shirking pesky Spring showers is a color blocked trench coat.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The classic silhouette on a trench not only looks modern and fresh when color blocking is added into the mix, but it also works in the pear-shaped divas favor. Since color blocking breaks the body up, look for styles where the lighter hue is placed on the top half of the jacket. The eye will naturally be drawn up towards those sexy shoulders, while the darker half of the jacket helps to camouflage those voluptuous hips. The contrasting colors will give balance and proportion to your shape. Color blocked paneling on the side of the jacket is also a plus for pear-shapes since it gives the illusion of whittling inches off the waist and hips instantly. Emphasize that envy-inducing itty bitty waist by tying the waistband, instead of buckling it, for an effortlessly cool look. If you want to take it a step further and add some extra styling oomph to your trench, try popping the collar to add some sassy attitude.</div>Kirsten @ Triple Max Tonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356433518817216612noreply@blogger.com
